Our Verdict: Affordable and eco-friendly, the Happsy Organic Mattress benefits side sleepers with its latex-coil combination that both contours to and supports shoulders. This combination also makes for a breathable layer that is great for sleepers who get too hot while resting. The pocket coils add a bouncy feel to the mattress so sleepers who enjoy a more thick mattress might not prefer the Happsy.

Happsy In-Depth Review
The Happsy brand is dedicated to doing business in an eco-friendly, organic and sustainable way. The company wants people to live healthier lives and think that everyone should be able to afford that healthier life.
The Happsy is an organic latex hybrid mattress constructed from natural materials that combine for an eco-friendly sleep surface. It sounds expensive, right? Well, it is also very reasonably priced for the quality.
The Happsy organic mattress is certified 100% organic by the Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS) and the Global Organic Latex Standard (GOLS) while using organic wools and cotton, natural latex and recycled metal coils. It also earns the organic label since it avoids using flame retardants, adhesives or polyurethane foam.
I think latex hybrids are a smart choice for side sleepers. That’s because the latex can both contour to shoulders and support some weight. The latex-coil combination is also a smart choice for anyone who gets too hot while they sleep. The latex, wool, and cotton are all naturally breathable and the coil layers dissipate heat as well
Happsy Highlights
- Latex in the comfort layer
- Organic wool and cotton in cover fabric, batting, and filling
- Has earned a least five certifications for using organic materials, meeting strict emissions standards, using fair-trade practices, overall sustainability, among others
Sleeping Positions
Average weight side sleepers and combination sleepers will like the latex on the top layer. You will feel cradled in this mattress. Adding an additional 2-inch latex layer with the optional topper will give you a more plush feel and more contouring for your shoulders and hips if you need it.
Back sleepers of most weights should like this mattress the best. It’s a medium to medium-firm feel, which suits a good number of sleepers. The comfort layer will easily contour to the posterior and back and next to keep the spine straight.
Stomach sleepers who carry an average amount of weight should also feel the latex layer curve around their tummy without losing support at the hips or shoulders.

Happsy Firmness
The Happsy Organic Mattress has a medium feel without the additional mattress topper. The topper will make it feel plusher like it has more give right at the top.
Happsy Construction
The Happsy Organic Latex Hybrid Mattress is made without glues, adhesives or flame retardants. And is made using organic materials from top to bottom.
The cover is made from organic cotton and it’s quilted with organic wool batting. It isn’t a pillow topper per se, but you may feel like it is. Also, all of the interstitial spaces, i.e. the nooks and crannies, are packed with organic cotton fill. Both cotton and wool are naturally breathable. That helps your body regulate its own temperature.
The comfort layer is 2 inches of organic latex. (Yes, latex is natural and organic. Latex is sourced from sap taken from a rubber tree.) Latex can both cradle the wider curves of the body (shoulders, hips) without flattening out around the lighter parts like your neck and head. Happsy calls the feel of it “floating pressure relief.” To keep the spine straight, the comfort layer needs to do both and latex does.
The other thing about latex is that it has some bounce to it. Memory foam will cradle you but can make you feel like you’ve sunk into the mattress and can’t get out. The latex has bounce and will help you lift yourself up and out of bed.
The support layer is 8 inches of pocketed coils that are recycled and GOTS-certified. There is so much space and air around the coils that heat can escape. Also, the pocketed coils move with you. The coils help reduce the jostling you cause when you move that can travel over to and disturb your sleep partner. It makes for a more peaceful sleep as well.
Happsy Buying Experience
Shipping, Delivery and Returns
Happsy mattresses will ship free from 5-7 business days after you place your order. It should arrive via FedEx or UPS ground five or so days after that depending on your address. Check with the company for shipping costs to Alaska or Hawaii.
It’s a bed inside a box, so it will arrive compressed, rolled, wrapped and boxed. Once unwrapped and once you’ve broken the vacuum seal, it will take about 30 minutes for the mattress to be usable and several days to reach its full height.
Happsy recommends you hold onto the wrapping and the box until you know you’ll keep the mattress. It will make the return trip easier for all involved. If you do not like this mattress, you can return it for a full refund.
Happsy Trial Period
Happsy allows you to sleep on your new mattress for 120 nights before deciding whether to keep it or night. It is a fair trial period since it matches the industry average.
Any mattress outfit worth its salt will tell you to sleep on a new mattress for at least 30 days to get used to the feel of it and to know for sure if it works for you. Again, returns are free if you decide against it.

Happsy Organic Mattress Rating and Conclusion
There are two ways to look at the Happsy Latex Hybrid Organic Mattress and feel good about it: You can feel good about purchasing an organic mattress with all of the most important gold standards and certifications for eco-friendly materials and practices. Or you can feel good that you didn’t sell the farm to purchase said organic mattress.
The Happsy has a simple two-layer design of latex and pocket coils. That masks a delightfully comprehensive mix of organic cotton and wool fabrics and fiberfill, naturally-sourced latex and recycled steel coils that won’t leave a huge carbon footprint. Happsy sells itself on caring about the earth and then goes out and delivers a mattress priced under what you’d expect to pay for that kind of attention to sustainability.
It will also give average-weight people a good night’s sleep regardless of sleep position.
