We’ve touched on the pros and cons of each bed. Now, let’s jump into more detail about how each mattress feels.
Here at Mattress Nerd, we test our mattress’ firmness on a simple scale of 1–10, where a “1” is super soft and a “10” is like sleeping on the floor. With this scale in mind, the Endy Hybrid’s firmness measures in at a medium-firm 6/10. And, so does the Casper Original’s firmness. This medium-firm works well for the average-sleeper and many lighter sleepers too. However, heavyweight sleepers over 230 lbs will need a bit more firmness, especially if they’re stomach sleepers.
In terms of how these two mattresses actually feel, the Casper has the softness and plushness you’d expect from an all-foam bed, but with above-average responsiveness. When it comes to the Endy Hybrid, you can expect this mattress to feel similar to a hotel bed—bouncy and lifted, with a plush top layer.
If you’re a back sleeper, both of these mattresses will provide a balanced feel since the Endy Hybrid and the Casper Original are both medium-firm. For stomach sleepers, however, the Endy Hybrid will generally work better across the board, since it’s more lifted and solid. Finally, the Casper’s more pressure relieving feel will be a better fit for most average-weight and lighter side sleepers.
Endy Hybrid Performance By Body Type & Sleeping Position:
Body Type: | BACK SLEEPERS | STOMACH SLEEPERS | SIDE SLEEPERS |
Lightweight (< 130 lbs): | 5 | 5 | 3 |
Average-weight (130–230 lbs): | 5 | 4 | 4 |
Heavyweight (> 230 lbs): | 5 | 4 | 5 |
Casper Original Performance By Body Type & Sleeping Position:
Body Type: | BACK SLEEPERS | STOMACH SLEEPERS | SIDE SLEEPERS |
Lightweight (< 130 lbs): | 5 | 4 | 4 |
Average-weight (130–230 lbs): | 5 | 3 | 5 |
Heavyweight (> 230 lbs): | 3 | 2 | 2 |
For average-weight back sleepers, the medium-firm feel of either the Endy Hybrid or the Casper Original will work great. However, stomach sleepers will prefer the more lifted feel of the Endy Hybrid. And, for average-weight side sleepers, the Casper Original will be a better fit, thanks to its pressure-relieving feel.
Next up, heavyweight sleepers usually need more support and firmness than lighter sleepers, even if they’re side sleepers. With this in mind, the lifted feel of the Endy Hybrid is best for back sleepers and stomach sleepers, along with side sleepers too.
At the other end of the spectrum, lightweight sleepers need pressure-relief more than they need extra firmness. In this comparison, lightweight side sleepers will want to go with the Casper Original’s more contouring feel. However, stomach sleepers should choose the Endy Hybrid since it has an ideal balance of support and softness. Finally, lightweight back sleepers will find that either the Endy Hybrid or the Casper Original offer plenty of lower back support.
The Casper Original is an all-foam mattress that stands at 11” tall, while the Endy Hybrid measures in at a taller 13” tall. Aside from this height difference, the biggest difference between the constructions of these beds is that the Endy includes a base layer of individually-wrapped pocketed coils.
Endy Hybrid Mattress Materials | Casper Mattress Materials |
Quilted mattress cover | Fabric mattress cover |
Open-celled foam | Breathable memory foam |
Transition foam | Zoned memory foam |
Pocketed coils | High-density foam base |
High-density foam base |
The top layer of the Casper mattress is a fabric cover made from recycled materials, and the Endy Hybrid has a cover made from plush, quilted mattress top.
Next, getting into the comfort layers, the Endy Hybrid features a layer of open-celled foam that allows for lots of airflow and cooling. Similarly, the Casper also features a section of breathable memory foam that’s responsive too. Below this, each mattress has a layer of responsive transition foam that keeps you elevated off of the mattress foundation.
Finally, while the Endy Hybrid and the Casper both feature a section of durable, high-density foam at their bases, only the Endy has a layer of individually-wrapped pocketed coils. These coils allow for the Endy to have more airflow and responsiveness too.

Hybrid mattresses are usually known for being cooler than their foam counterparts, and the same is true in this comparison. Although the Casper Original has decent temperature control for a solid foam mattress, the Endy’s cooling is top-notch, even for a hybrid bed.
As we touched on earlier, motion isolation is how well your mattress prevents motion transfer (unwanted movement). If someone who sleeps lightly, or is planning on sharing their next bed, the Casper’s all-foam design absorbs this motion transfer much better.
While hybrid mattresses tend to be more sturdy (since they have a base of steel coils), the Casper and the Endy Hybrid actually come neck and neck in edge support. Both of these beds have strong perimeters, which is good for seniors or any sleepers who use the edge of their mattress for support.
The Casper Original is a bit more pressure-relieving than the Endy Hybrid, which is why it’s better for lightweight side sleepers too. This is simply because the Casper is made from contouring and soft memory foam, allowing for more “sinking” than the Endy Hybrid.
If you’re looking for quality pain relief from your mattress, you’ll need to consider your body type and your preferred sleeping position first. If you’re a back sleeper, either of these mattresses should have you covered, but, for side sleepers, lighter sleepers will prefer the Casper, and heavier sleepers will prefer the Endy Hybrid.
As a hybrid mattress with a foundation of steel coils, the Endy Hybrid has a slight edge over the Casper when it comes to durability. Nonetheless, even the Casper has above-average durability for an all-foam bed. This means that both of these mattresses will last you past the typical bed lifespan of seven years.
The Endy Hybrid comes with free shipping, but only if you live in Canada’s provinces. If you live in remote areas of Canada, you’ll have to pay a shipping fee. And, unfortunately, shoppers outside of Canada will not be able to buy the Endy directly. Once you’ve bought your Endy Hybrid, you’ll have a 100-night sleep trial, during which you can ask for a full-refund. However, if you do decide to keep your Endy, you’ll be entitled to a 10-year Limited Warranty.
Next up, with the Casper, you’ll receive free shipping on your order to anywhere in the continental United States, with a shipping fee to Hawaii, Alaska, and some parts of Canada. Like the Endy, you’ll also receive a 100-night sleep trial; however, with the Casper, you’ll get a 15-year Limited Warranty.
The Endy Hybrid and the Casper are both medium-firm mattresses, but the Casper is an all-foam bed with a more contouring feel, best for lightweight side sleepers and couples. That said, the Endy Hybrid’s more lifted feel is ideal for combination sleepers, hot sleepers, and heavier sleepers as well.
Since the Casper is a bed-in-a-box, all-foam mattress, you’ll need to give it some time to expand once you’ve unpackaged it. This process will take several hours as your mattress off-gasses and expands, and it should be completely done within a few days at most.
While you can place your Endy Hybrid on a variety of surfaces, the company advises against putting it on the floor (since this can inhibit ventilation) or on a bed frame with widely spaced slats (more than 3” apart) to prevent the mattress from sagging or warping.
No. The Casper all-foam mattress is made from materials that are CertiPUR-US-certified, meaning they contain no harmful or toxic chemicals or emissions. If you do notice an odor coming from your Casper after unboxing, this is simply off-gassing, which is a harmless process as your bed expands.
