| Average-weight side sleepers | Combination sleepers |
Let’s go into more detail about how each mattress feels and how they compare.
At Mattress Nerd, we like to measure firmness on a simple scale of 1–10, where a 1 is the softest possible and a 10 is like sleeping on concrete. With that in mind, we found that the Nectar mattress measures in at a 6/10, and the Siena comes in at a 6.5/10. Overall, while the Siena is a smidge firmer, both beds fall into the medium-firm range which is ideal for the average sleeper.
In terms of feel, both beds have the softness and cushion you’d expect from all-foam mattresses; however, the Siena is notably more lifted and responsive, while the Nectar has a more supportive and slightly softer feel to it.
For back sleepers, either mattress will provide a good balance of lower back support and pressure relief, but the Siena mattress is the better choice regardless of body type. For stomach sleepers too, the Siena, which is the firmer mattress, offers better hip support.
Nectar Performance By Body Type & Sleeping Position:
| Body Type: | BACK SLEEPERS | STOMACH SLEEPERS | SIDE SLEEPERS |
| Lightweight (< 130 lbs): | 4 | 3 | 3 |
| Average-weight (130–230 lbs): | 4 | 2 | 5 |
| Heavyweight (> 230 lbs): | 2 | 2 | 3 |
Siena Performance By Body Type & Sleeping Position:
| Body Type: | BACK SLEEPERS | STOMACH SLEEPERS | SIDE SLEEPERS |
| Lightweight (< 130 lbs): | 5 | 5 | 4 |
| Average-weight (130–230 lbs): | 5 | 4 | 4 |
| Heavyweight (> 230 lbs): | 4 | 2 | 3 |
For average-weight sleepers, the Siena mattress is slightly better for back sleepers, while the Nectar’s slightly softer feel is better for side sleepers. For stomach sleepers, however, the Nectar’s lack of firmness sets it back, making the Siena the better option.
Moving on to heavier sleepers, the Siena offers better pressure relief for back sleepers; however, neither bed is firm enough for heavyweight stomach sleepers or side sleepers. This is because heavier sleepers tend to need more firmness and support than either all-foam mattress offers.
Lastly, for lightweight sleepers, the Siena mattress, despite being firmer, is actually the better choice across the board, This is because, for lighter back sleepers, the Siena offers more lower back pressure relief. Then, for side sleepers, while the Nectar is more solid, the Siena is more cushioned. Finally, for lightweight stomach sleepers, the Siena offers the perfect level of firmness to keep sleepers’ hips from sinking.
Both the Nectar mattress and Siena mattress are all-foam, but the Nectar measures in at a foot tall, while the Siena is 10 inches tall. Additionally, much of the Nectar’s extra thickness is in the base foam support layer, making this bed more solid.
| Nectar Mattress Materials | Siena Mattress Materials |
| Quilted memory foam top | Mattress cover |
| Memory foam comfort layer | Gel-infused foam comfort layer |
| Foam support layer | Foam support layer |
| Base foam layer | Base foam layer |

The Nectar mattress features a mattress cover made from quilted memory foam, while the Siena has a cover that’s made from a poly-blend fabric.
Beneath the mattress covers, each bed has a layer of memory foam for a comfort layer; however, the Nectar’s comfort layer is half an inch thicker, which adds a little more softness.
Getting into the support layers of these beds, both the Nectar mattress and Siena include support polyfoam. And, both beds have two inches of this responsive and lifting foam. However, at the very bottom of each mattress, the Nectar’s high-density foam base layer is two inches thicker, making this bed more supportive.

When it comes to temperature control, neither the Nectar nor the Siena mattress come out on top. This is because both all-foam beds tend to retain body heat and have little ventilation.
For couples looking to share a mattress, motion isolation helps to reduce how much you can feel your partner moving around, getting out of bed, or tossing and turning. In this all-foam mattress showdown, the Nectar mattress takes the lead here. This is because the Nectar is a thicker bed and absorbs more movement.
In this area too, the Nectar’s thicker design provides it with more stability around its edges. For sleepers who want to sit or lie near the edge of their bed (without falling off), the Nectar is the better choice here.
If you’re looking for pain relief, the best mattress for you depends on a variety of factors including your preferred sleeping position and body type. In this comparison, the Siena mattress is the better choice for sleepers wanting back pain relief; however, if you’re an average-weight side sleeper, the Nectar may work best for you.
Some factors to consider for pain relief are that the Nectar mattress is more supportive (due to its extra thickness) and slightly softer than the Siena. However, if you’re a back sleeper, the Siena may still be the better option for you.
Durability tends to trend with mattress thickness. And, since the Nectar is the thicker bed here, you can expect it to last longer than the Siena, which is a more budget-friendly option.
Firstly, Nectar has the better policies of the two mattress companies. If you choose to get a Nectar mattress, you’ll be entitled to free shipping, a 365-night free trial, and a Lifetime warranty that protects against any defects.
On the other hand, if you’re looking to buy your very own Siena mattress, it comes with free shipping, a 180-night free trial, and a 10-year warranty that protects against any manufacturing defects.

While the Nectar and Siena mattresses are both all-foam, the Nectar is the sturdier bed, but the Siena is technically firmer. Furthermore, while the Siena is best for back sleepers, the Nectar may work better for some average-weight side sleepers. And, lastly, both beds have similar temperature control and pressure relief.
This depends on whether you prioritize budget or policies more. For example, while the Nectar is a much more expensive bed, it is more durable, and it comes with a much longer free trial and Lifetime warranty. The Siena is a budget bed, but its warranty is for 10 years.
Since Nectar beds ship as a compressed bed-in-a-box, you’ll need to allow for the mattress to expand after you’ve opened it. The company states that this process should take about twenty-four hours to 3 days to complete. After the bed is fully expanded, you can start sleeping on it.
We tested both of these all-foam, budget mattresses and found that the Siena mattress is actually slightly firmer than the Nectar mattress. However, the Nectar mattress, which is two inches thicker than the Siena, is a more solid and supportive bed, with stronger edge support as well.
