Brooklyn Bedding Mattress Warranty Breakdown

Learn what Brooklyn Bedding’s 10-year warranty policy covers, what it doesn’t, and how to submit a claim.

Brooklyn Bedding began as a family business in 1995, and has since grown into one of the most popular brands on the market. Brooklyn Bedding crafts every mattress in a privately owned warehouse in Phoenix, Arizona, allowing the company to control quality, costs (including big discounts), and shipping time. 

The brand currently offers five hybrid mattresses and one memory foam mattress that suit luxury shoppers on a budget. Each of these beds has a 10-year warranty, which is what we’re breaking down into layman’s terms and easy-to-digest snippets.

How Long Does the Brooklyn Bedding Warranty Period Last?

All six Brooklyn Bedding mattresses come with a 10-year warranty covering manufacturing and material defects. The warranty covers all models to the same extent and is on par with the average bed-ina-box mattress company. Warranty coverage begins on the date of purchase, and is exclusively available to the original owner. For reference, the six mattresses models are the Brooklyn Signature, Brooklyn Bloom, Brooklyn Sedona, Brooklyn Spartan, Brooklyn Bowery Hybrid, and Brooklyn Plank.

Brooklyn Bedding’s warranty coverage remains the same throughout the full duration of the 10-year warranty period. In other words, whether you make a claim about a defect during the first year of ownership or the tenth year, Brooklyn Bedding addresses the claim in the same manner.

What is Covered by the Brooklyn Bedding Warranty?

Indentations

The Brooklyn Bedding warranty covers indentations or body impressions on the top layers that are at least 1” deep. The dip must remain after you get out of bed to qualify under warranty.  

Splitting or Cracking

If the TitanFlex foam or other foam layers used in the Brooklyn Bedding mattresses begin to split or crack under normal usage and proper handling, you should submit a warranty claim

Foam Defects or Deterioration

Brooklyn Bedding will either repair or replace the mattress if you notice other signs of foam deterioration, such as crumbling. 

Sagging

Brooklyn Bedding’s warranty includes issues with sagging foam or innerspring layers, so long as a firm and sturdy foundation has continually supported the mattress since day one of ownership.

What the Brooklyn Bedding Does Not Cover

Normal Body Impressions

Every Brooklyn Bedding mattress has a foam comfort layer to relieve aches and pains at your pressure points. However, even these high-quality foams form slight body impressions over time. This warranty doesn’t cover impressions less than 1” deep, given that these are normal to encounter after owning a mattress for a few years.  

Off-Gassing

Mattresses with foam layers that ship compressed have a temporary odor when you take them out of the box. While the scent is typically most pronounced for memory foam mattresses, hybrid mattresses with thick foam layers also emit this new mattress smell. 

You should expect a short-term scent when you unbox your Brooklyn Bedding bed, but rest assured that the smell isn’t dangerous, thanks to Brooklyn Bedding using only CertiPUR-US certified foams that are free from known toxic chemicals.  

Softening

The longer that you sleep on a mattress, the softer it gets. A medium-firm mattress isn’t going to become incredibly plush, but there will be more conforming as time goes on. 

Some sleepers may find this comfortable—especially side sleepers who love added cushion and contouring at their hips and shoulders. But others—like stomach sleepers and heavyweight folks—often need a firm surface for proper spine alignment. Because all beds with foam layers gradually soften, Brooklyn Bedding doesn’t consider this a defect.  

Sagging Caused by Insufficient Support

Mattresses need a supportive base to stay in good condition. Placing your Brooklyn Bedding bed on an old box spring or a slatted base with slats widely spaced can cause foam deterioration and sagging. If poor support is what causes sagging, Brooklyn Bedding won’t approve the warranty claim

Personal Comfort

Do you find your mattress too firm or too soft? These are examples of comfort preferences, which aren’t a sign of a mattress defect and therefore won’t qualify you for a warranty claim

If you just bought your new bed, give it a try for 30 days, during which time the materials break-in and your body adjusts. In the event that the feel isn’t right for you, reach out to Brooklyn Bedding’s customer service to take advantage of the generous 120-night return policy

If you bought one of the beds that Brooklyn Bedding offers with multiple firmness levels—including the Brooklyn Aurora, Brooklyn Spartan, and Brooklyn Signature mattresses—you may just need to exchange your current bed for one with a different firmness option. 

But if you’ve had this bed for years and find that the feel no longer suits you, you can’t return it. At this point, you may want to throw a topper on your old mattress to create a new feel that might work better.

Damage and Normal Wear

Damage, such as stains or cuts, and normal wear won’t qualify you for a warranty claim. To avoid damage, be careful with your new investment and use a mattress protector to safeguard against spills. 

Sleep Experience

Do you want more breathability, sturdier edge support, or less motion transfer? If you figure this out during the 120-night sleep trial period, you can return or exchange your mattress for a full refund. You might find that the best mattress for you is a memory foam bed without innersprings for better motion isolation, or that a Twin XL simply isn’t large enough.

But after those first 120 nights, it’s up to you to either make your mattress work or buy a new one if you find yourself wanting something different.

What Could Void My Warranty?

  • Damaging the mattress, including burns, tears, cuts, spills, and stains 
  • An infestation or other issue that leaves the mattress in an unsanitary condition, such as mold or bed bugs 
  • Use of an improper foundation, such as an old box spring or platform base with slats more than 3” apart 
  • Resale or relinquishment of the product to a new owner

How Does the Brooklyn Bedding Warranty Measure Up?

The Brooklyn Bedding warranty is on par with other bed-ina-box mattress brands. 10 year warranties like this one are the most common, and even the terms are similar to other leading companies. Overall, given the affordable price points on Brooklyn Bedding mattresses, the warranty is excellent.

Filing A Warranty Claim with Brooklyn Bedding

Brooklyn Bedding has a simple online warranty form that you fill out to submit a claim. Here’s what you’ll need to complete the form:

  • Order number
  • Mattress model, size, and firmness level (when applicable)
  • Name of the original purchaser (which must be you to qualify for a warranty claim)
  • Description of the type of foundation or support system you use
  • A description of the concern prompting you to submit a claim 

A Brooklyn Bedding customer support representative will follow up with you within a few business days after you submit the form. The rep will potentially request additional information, like a video or photo of the issue. You can call 1-888-210-8751 on business days from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Caring For Your Brooklyn Bedding Mattress 

Caring for your mattress can increase its lifespan and avoid accidentally voiding your warranty. Here’s what we recommend you do to keep your Brooklyn Bedding mattress in excellent condition. 

  • Use the right foundation: The best support system depends on which size mattress you buy, but it must be firm and supportive. Most adjustable bases, platform frames, and slatted bases work well. Only box springs younger than five years are acceptable. Just be sure that Queen size and larger beds have middle support legs. 
  • Rotate your mattress: Brooklyn Bedding recommends rotating its mattresses from head to foot every six to eight months. 
  • Buy a mattress protector: Waterproof mattress protectors reduce your chances of mold and bug infestations while protecting against accidents and spills. Any of this damage can void your warranty and make your mattress unsanitary. 
  • Be careful when handling the mattress: The handles on the side of Brooklyn Bedding beds aren’t meant for flipping or carrying the mattress. Instead, grasp the top and bottom of the mattress when you need to move it, being careful not to grab and tear the foam. 
  • Address accidents promptly: Whether you use a mattress protector or not, immediately clean up liquid spills or accidents. Use a towel to absorb liquid, remove the bedding, and spot clean if necessary.

FAQs about the Brooklyn Bedding Warranty 

How old is too old for a box spring?

Brooklyn Bedding instructs its customers to use only box springs that are younger than five years old. Keep in mind that you do not need a box spring with a Brooklyn Bedding mattress, but if you use a box spring, ensure that it’s non-flexible. 

What types of foundations or frames will keep my mattress covered under warranty? 

You want a support system that’s strong and isn’t flexible. Good sturdy options include bed frames with slats no more than 3” apart, foundations, bunkie boards, adjustable frames, or non-flexible box springs.

Is damage to the coils covered in the Brooklyn Bedding’s warranty policy?

Though models like the Brooklyn Bedding Signature hybrid mattress use coils in their construction, there is no mention of innerspring coils in the Brooklyn Bedding warranty policy. 

Do all Brooklyn Bedding mattresses have the same warranty coverage?
