Hot sleepersSleepers of any weight and position
Sleepers of all sleeping positionsSleepers seeking a bouncy mattress

Who Should Choose the Leesa Mattress?

  • Sleepers seeking medium-firm mattresses: Leesa’s layers provide enough support for sleepers that seek a good balance between soft and too-firm mattresses.
  • Hot sleepers: The Leesa’s LSA200 proprietary foam allows for better temperature regulation than competing all-foam mattresses.
  • Sleepers of all sleeping positions: The Leesa mattress is a high-quality bed that offers comfort, support, and pressure relief that fits the needs of all sleepers.

Who Should Choose the Brooklyn Bedding Mattress?

  • Sleepers who go after quality and value: Brooklyn Bedding is an affordable mattress choice without compromising the quality of materials and construction.
  • Sleepers of any weight and position: Brooklyn Bedding offers different firmness levels, thus, making it an ideal choice for varying body types and preferred sleeping positions.
  • Sleepers seeking a bouncy mattress: Brooklyn Bedding has a distinct innerspring material that offers sleepers a bouncy and comfortable feel.

Leesa vs. Brooklyn Bedding: Top Similarities

  • Versatility: The medium firm comfort levels of the Leesa Original and Brooklyn Signature Hybrid make them suitable for use in all sleeping positions.
  • Temperature: Both mattresses are excellent at controlling temperature, which is especially beneficial for people who sleep hot or reside in the south.
  • Cost: The Brooklyn Signature Hybrid and the Leesa Original have below-average price points.
  • Sleep Trial: Leesa and Brooklyn Bedding offer 100-night trials and free shipping on returns and exchanges.

Leesa vs. Brooklyn Bedding: Top Differences

  • Bounce: The Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid is quite a bit bouncier due to the latex-like nature of its comfort foam and its coil support layer.
  • Pressure Relief: The Brooklyn Signature Hybrid offers exceptional pressure relief, making it the perfect choice for side sleepers with hip or shoulder pain.
  • Firmness: The Brooklyn Signature comes in three firmness options (soft, medium, and firm), while the Leesa only comes in one firmness option.
  • Motion Transfer: The Leesa is an excellent choice for couples who want a bed that offers the bounce of a spring mattress and the isolation of an all-foam one.

Leesa vs. Brooklyn Bedding: Firmness & Feel Differences

Read on to find the main differences between Leesa and Brooklyn Bedding’s firmness and feel and determine which mattress suits you best.

What’s the Firmness Of the Leesa & Brooklyn Bedding Mattresses?

The firmness levels of the Leesa and Brooklyn Bedding mattresses are medium-firm and firm, respectively. This means that they’re not too soft, but they’re also not as firm as some other mattresses on the market. If you’re a lightweight sleeper, you’ll probably find the Brooklyn Bedding mattress too firm for your liking. However, if you’re an average or heavyweight person who likes a medium-firm mattress, this may be a good fit for you!

What Do the Leesa & Brooklyn Bedding Mattresses Feel Like?

The Leesa medium firm mattress gives sleepers the feeling of being loosely cradled, which will likely be an enjoyable sensation for people who need pressure point relief but don’t like super-plush mattresses. Meanwhile, all three firmness levels of the Brooklyn Bedding have a bouncy, innerspring feel, so you’ll feel lifted on the mattress or like you’re sleeping “on” the bed rather than “in” it.

What’s It Like to Sleep On the Leesa & Brooklyn Bedding Mattresses?

Leesa and Brooklyn Bedding mattresses are designed with all sleepers in mind. The Leesa mattress is made with three layers of foam that provide pressure relief and support while still being lightweight and supportive. The Brooklyn Bedding mattress has a latex foam core, which is good for back sleepers who need extra cushioning and side sleepers who need more firmness to get the proper support.

The Leesa vs. Brooklyn Bedding Mattresses By Body Type

Leesa Performance By Body Type & Sleeping Position:

Body Type:BACK SLEEPERSSTOMACH SLEEPERSSIDE SLEEPERS
Lightweight (< 130 lbs): 434
Average-weight (130–230 lbs):435
Heavyweight (> 230 lbs): 222

Brooklyn Performance By Body Type & Sleeping Position:

Body Type:BACK SLEEPERSSTOMACH SLEEPERSSIDE SLEEPERS
Lightweight (< 130 lbs): 432
Average-weight (130–230 lbs):533
Heavyweight (> 230 lbs): 424

1 = Very poor, 2 = Not good, 3 = Fair, 4 = Good, 5 = Excellent

Average-Weight Sleepers (130–230 lbs)

If you’re an average-weight sleeper which is a back sleeper, the Leesa mattress might be right for you. The Leesa is designed to reduce motion transfer, so it won’t disturb your partner when they move around at night. It also has enough firmness to keep you from sinking too far into the mattress and feeling trapped. The Leesa’s softness makes it a great option for side sleepers, but this may not be the best choice if you tend to sleep on your stomach or in a combination position.

The Brooklyn Bedding mattress is a good option for average-weight sleepers who prefer softer mattresses. This product has a softer feel than many other memory foam mattresses today, which means it will be more comfortable than some competitors—especially if you tend to sink into your mattress as a side sleeper or a stomach sleeper

Heavyweight Sleepers (> 230 lbs)

If you’re a heavyweight sleeper and sleep on your side, the Brooklyn Bedding mattress is a great choice. Brooklyn Bedding has a slightly firmer feel than the Leesa mattress, which means it will be more supportive for heavyweights. If you are a stomach or back sleeper, then the Brooklyn Bedding mattress will be a better choice because it has more bounce and responsiveness than the Leesa.

Lightweight Sleepers (< 130 lbs)

The Leesa mattress is designed with the average lightweight sleeper in mind. The high-density polyfoam used in this mattress gives it a solid feel without being too firm or hard. This makes it ideal for side and back sleepers alike who want their mattresses to have some give but not be overly soft.

The Brooklyn Bedding Mattress is also a good option for lightweight sleepers. It uses memory foam, which provides pressure relief and allows you to sink into the mattress without feeling like you’re being swallowed up by it. This can be especially helpful if you tend to roll around during the night and need something more yielding than traditional coils or springs might offer.

Differences In Mattress Construction

Regarding mattress construction, the Leesa and Brooklyn Bedding mattresses have apparent distinctions. This section will walk you through their differences in terms of cover, comfort, and support layers.

Leesa Mattress Materials Brooklyn Bedding Mattress Materials
Gray twill coverQuilted cover
2” LSA200 foam 2” low-density memory foam1”/1.5” TitanFlex polyfoam
1”/2” VariFlex polyfoam
6” high-density polyfoam8” pocketed coils .25” high-density polyfoam
10”11.5”

Cover

The Leesa mattress has a Gray twill cover which is a breathable, moisture-wicking material that helps keep you cool and comfortable throughout the night, while the Brooklyn Bedding mattress is covered in a soft fabric with a quilted design that gives it a more traditional look.

Comfort Layers

The Leesa mattress has a 2” LSA200 foam and 2” low-density memory foam, which is a bit more dense than the Brooklyn Bedding’s 1”/1.5” TitanFlex polyfoam. This means that the Leesa mattress will be a bit firmer than the Brooklyn Bedding, but it also means that it will be more supportive and durable.

Support Layers

The Leesa mattress has a 6” high-density polyfoam, which is meant to provide support and comfort to the sleeper. The Brooklyn Bedding mattress has 8” pocketed coils .25” high-density polyfoam, which is designed to provide superior support and pressure relief.

Leesa vs. Brooklyn Bedding Mattress Performance Ratings & Differences

In this part of the review, we’ll be comparing the differences in performance and function based on each of the mattresses’ temperatures, motion transfer, edge support, and more.

Temperature

The Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid is constructed with several cooling features, including a breathable woven cover that encourages temperature neutrality, gel-infused TitanFlex comfort foam to draw body heat away from the sleeper, and a tall pocketed coil support core that enhances airflow throughout the entire mattress. Meanwhile, the Leesa likely won’t run hot for people who don’t have major temperature issues because the top layer of LSA200 foam doesn’t collect as much heat as memory foam.

Motion Transfer

The Leesa and the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid each isolate motion very well in their own right. The Signature Hybrid has 1,024 individually pocketed coils that help reduce disturbances, and the memory foam in Leesa’s top layer will make it less likely that you’ll disturb your partner at night.

Edge Support

Hybrid mattresses with coil cores usually perform well in this area, and the Signature Hybrid is no exception. You shouldn’t feel like you’re dipping down too far when you sit or lie along the edge of the Brooklyn Signature Hybrid. Meanwhile, the Leesa does compress at its edges, especially if you’re an average-weight or plus-size body type.

Pressure Relief

The Leesa offers gentle pressure relief, but not as much as most memory foam beds. The LSA200 material used in the Leesa is bouncier, so the relief coming from the memory foam layer underneath it is present but not obvious. The Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid has a similar feel in that it doesn’t feel like memory foam and is bouncy, but the pressure relief is much more noticeable in the soft version.

Pain Relief

The Leesa has a polyfoam core that’s durable and supportive, and the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid has a pocketed coil core that’s supportive yet assists with pressure relief by contouring the body. The Leesa’s medium-firm firmness level should work well for back sleepers. In contrast, side sleepers might want to choose the softer version of the Brooklyn Signature Hybrid for ultimate spinal stability.

Durability

The Leesa’s LSA200 comfort foam and its memory foam have 3 lb densities. These are relatively high-density foams, so we expect the mattress to last seven to 10 years. Like most hybrid mattresses, the Signature Hybrid also has a seven to 10 years lifespan thanks to its pocketed coil core, which helps make the mattress robust and resistant to sagging and indentations.
