Brooklyn Bedding vs Casper Overview

This part of the review will explain which mattress best suits your needs and preferences.

Brooklyn Bedding is best for…Casper is best for…
All types of sleepersSide sleepers
Hot sleepersCombination sleepers
Stomach sleepersBack sleepers

Who Should Choose the Brooklyn Bedding Mattress?

  • All types of sleepers: Every sleeping position can be accommodated on one of the Brooklyn Signature’ Hybrid’s three firmness options.
  • Hot sleepers: Hot sleepers will appreciate the Brooklyn Signature Hybrid’s pleasant, temperature-neutral construction.
  • Stomach sleepers: The Brooklyn Signature Hybrid firm model provides the right level of support to keep lightweight and average-weight stomach sleepers’ hips and shoulders aligned.

Who Should Choose the Casper Mattress?

  • Side sleepers: Side sleepers with lightweight or average-weight body types will notice a comfy level of pressure point relief on the Casper.
  • Combination sleepers: Casper mattress is best for combination sleepers because it’s comfortable, durable, and supportive enough to cater to any sleeping position.
  • Back sleepers: Casper is best for back sleepers because it lets you sink into the mattress, which supports the natural curve of your spine.

Brooklyn Bedding vs Casper: Top Similarities

  • Pain Relief: The Casper and Brooklyn Signature Hybrid keeps your spine in a healthy neutral alignment.
  • Support: The Casper and Brooklyn Bedding are similar in support because they both have high-density memory foams that provide a soft, supportive feel.
  • Price: The pricing is similar for these two models. As mid-range mattress brands, you can get a Queen size for around $1,100.

Brooklyn Bedding vs Casper: Top Differences

  • Foam Construction: The all-foam construction of the Casper does a better job of keeping motion transfer to a minimum.
  • Temperature: The Brooklyn Signature Hybrid stays cooler, partly because of better airflow through the coil base layer (as opposed to the high-density polyfoam base on the Casper).
  • Feel: The Casper could technically be considered a memory foam mattress, though it incorporates polyfoam layers. As such, it has a close, conforming feel, while the Brooklyn Signature Hybrid hybrid construction is bouncier.

Brooklyn Bedding vs Casper: Firmness & Feel Differences

In this section, we will tackle the differences between the Brooklyn Bedding and Casper mattresses in terms of their feel and firmness levels.

What’s the Firmness Of the Brooklyn Bedding & Casper Mattresses?

The Brooklyn Bedding mattress is a medium-firm mattress that offers moderate cushioning. This will be the ideal balance of support and comfort for most people. The Casper mattress is also medium-firm, so it’s sure to be an excellent fit for most sleepers. We recommend trying out our Brooklyn Bedding for people on the lighter side and who prefer softer beds. It is plush and soft yet still provides good support for your body. For heavier individuals who want firmer support, the Casper and Brooklyn Bedding mattresses are an excellent choice.

What Do the Brooklyn Bedding & Casper Mattresses Feel Like?

The Brooklyn Bedding mattress feels like a soft and bouncy hug, which is perfect if you’re looking for something that will keep your body lifted on top of the mattress. It also keeps you cool and comfortable with its breathable fabric cover. Meanwhile, the Casper mattress has a memory foam feel, which will hug your body and keep you lifted on top of the mattress while providing support. If you’re sensitive to heat retention or prefer a cooler sleeping experience, this is the bed for you!

What’s It Like to Sleep On the Brooklyn Bedding & Casper Mattresses?

Brooklyn Bedding & Casper Mattresses are comfortable, supportive, and easy to fall asleep on. Side sleepers will enjoy the softness and support of the Brooklyn Bedding mattress, which contours to your body and has enough firmness to keep you from rolling into your partner in the middle of the night. Stomach sleepers, on the other hand, will find that their hips sink right into the mattress when they lie down—which is great if you want something soft and comfy. Back sleepers should be able to find a good position with either of these mattresses as well: both Brooklyn Bedding & Casper have a little give in them that’ll allow you to move around without feeling stuck in place. For combination sleepers (those who switch between back sleeping and side sleeping), these mattresses are perfect for providing support where needed most.

The Brooklyn Bedding vs Casper Mattresses By Body Type

Brooklyn Bedding Performance By Body Type & Sleeping Position:

Body Type:BACK SLEEPERSSTOMACH SLEEPERSSIDE SLEEPERS
Lightweight (< 130 lbs): 544
Average-weight (130–230 lbs):53
Heavyweight (> 230 lbs): 522

Casper Performance By Body Type & Sleeping Position:

Body Type:BACK SLEEPERSSTOMACH SLEEPERSSIDE SLEEPERS
Lightweight (< 130 lbs): 534
Average-weight (130–230 lbs):535
Heavyweight (> 230 lbs): 424

1 = Very poor, 2 = Not good, 3 = Fair, 4 = Good, 5 = Excellent

Average-Weight Sleepers (130–230 lbs)

For average-weight back sleepers, the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid could be a great fit because they should get the right amount of support and comfort. It might also be a good fit for side sleepers because they will get enough pressure reduction at the shoulder and hip. Even while the Signature Hybrid provides adequate spinal support for stomach sleepers, people who spend the entire night in this position may wish to think about the Casper or the firm version of the Signature Hybrid.

Meanwhile, because it combines pressure relief and lumbar support, the Casper is also a fantastic choice for back sleepers of this body type. Although the Casper isn’t a bad option either, average-weight side sleepers would likely prefer the softer Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid. For stomach sleepers, the Casper should provide sufficient spinal support.

Heavyweight Sleepers (> 230 lbs)

Heavy back sleepers who weigh less than 300 pounds should have adequate spinal support from the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid. Heavyweight side sleepers may find the Signature Hybrid too firm because they will likely press through the softer comfort layer and into the tougher support layers below. Heavy stomach sleepers probably won’t find the Signature Hybrid supportive enough.

On the other hand, due to Casper’s all-foam construction, heavy back sleepers may prefer the support provided by the Signature Hybrid’s coils or a mattress that provides more support for people of their weight. Like the Signature Hybrid, the Casper will likely feel excessively firm for heavyweight side sleepers. The Casper may provide appropriate spinal support for heavy stomach sleepers under 300 pounds; those who weigh more will likely need a more supportive mattress.

Lightweight Sleepers (< 130 lbs)

The Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid should provide pressure reduction and spinal support for lightweight back sleepers. On this mattress, lightweight side sleepers should have plenty of pressure reduction. The Signature Hybrid should provide sufficient spinal support for stomach sleepers, though they might prefer the somewhat firmer Casper.

For lightweight back sleepers, the Casper provides excellent lumbar support and a small amount of pressure alleviation. It might be a good fit for lightweight side sleepers, but those who like a softer feel will probably choose the Signature Hybrid. For stomach sleepers, the Casper ought to be a supportive match.

Differences In Mattress Construction

This section will address the differences between Brooklyn Bedding and the Casper mattresses in terms of construction and materials.

Ascension X coils and high-density base foamBase foam
11”11”

Cover

The Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid has a soft cover that is foam-quilted for some immediate pressure relief. Casper’s cover is made partly from recycled bottles and is particularly breathable.

Comfort Layers

The main comfort layer of the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid is constructed of 1.5″ of TitanFlex foam, which is springy, responsive, and just a little pressure-relieving. The transition layer between the TitanFlex foam above and the support coils below is a 1.5″ layer of higher-density foam called Energex. (Again, keep in mind that we’re discussing the Medium form of this mattress; the Soft and Firm variants have slightly different structures.)

Support Layers

The support layer of the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid is composed of 6″ of the company’s individually-wrapped Ascension coils. These coils support the mattress as a whole. The edge support of the bed is further strengthened by an additional layer of coils around its edge. Durable polyfoam makes up the base layer of the Casper mattress, providing it with strength and support.

Brooklyn Bedding vs Casper Mattress Performance Ratings & Differences

Let’s compare how the Brooklyn Bedding and Casper mattresses perform in terms of temperature, durability, pressure relief, and other factors.

Temperature

Thanks to its coils, the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid wins this category since they provide a lot of airflow through the mattress’s center. Consider the Casper Hybrid if you would prefer the Casper but are concerned about breathability.

Motion Transfer

The Casper wins in this category despite being responsive and bouncy. The Casper does a decent job of absorbing motion and minimizing disturbance over the surface of the mattress since it has a plusher layer of foam on top. This mattress might be a better choice for couples.

Edge Support

The supportive coils and additional perimeter coils of the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid give it the upper hand in this category. The edges of this mattress seemed safer for sitting and lying down.

Pressure Relief

The soft Brooklyn Signature Hybrid provides the best pressure relief, the Casper and medium Brooklyn Signature Hybrid provide moderate pressure relief, and the firm Brooklyn Signature Hybrid offers the least pressure relief. If your mattress doesn’t provide proper pressure relief or support, you can expect to wake up with aches and pains.

Pain Relief

The Casper and Brooklyn Signature Hybrid keep your body weight evenly distributed so your spine stays in a healthy alignment, regardless of sleeping position.

Durability

Memory foam and hybrid mattresses both last between seven to 10 years on average, depending on how often they’re used. These mattresses should endure between seven and ten years because they are both built of sturdy materials.

Shipping, Returns, & Warranties

The Casper and Brooklyn Signature Hybrid mattresses both boast rave customer reviews, and we’ve just highlighted the pros and cons, but which is the best mattress for you? If you need a mattress that stays cool, the Brooklyn Signature Hybrid is your best bet, but if you like the contouring feel of memory foam, go with the Casper. Brooklyn Bedding & Casper FAQs

What is the Brooklyn Bedding & Casper warranty?

Both mattresses offer a 10-year limited warranty which covers defects in the materials and workmanship of your bed frame. The warranty means that if your mattress ever becomes irreparably damaged, you can send it back to the manufacturer or the company, and they will replace it with a brand-new one.

What is the best mattress for you?

The best mattress for you depends on your personal preferences and needs, as well as your budget. You should also consider what kind of sleeper you are—whether you prefer firm or soft, how much back pain you have, whether or not you sleep hot, etc.

How long will my mattress last?

It is hard to say exactly how long any particular mattress will last. With proper care and usage, you will be able to enjoy your new bed for many years to come! Both mattresses—the Brooklyn Bedding and the Casper mattress—should last between 7 to 10 years with adequate care.
